Students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking won the first prize of the Student Savings Contest 2021

Starting saving at a young age will become a  good habit when students get older since it requires determination and discipline. Especially in the current COVID-19 situation, those who are able to manage their finances and save in advance will have an advantage and be less vulnerable.

  With a view to raising people's awareness about the role of personal financial management and to creating an attractive intellectual playground for young people, Student Savings Contest was held as an event in the series of World Savings Day events on October 31, co-organized by the University of Economics - VNU in association with the German Savings Banks Fund (SBFIC). 

This year's contest’s theme is "Managing young people's spending during the COVID-19 pandemic”. The contest took place from October 6 to October 31. The main jury of the competition is those who are experienced and professional, including Ms. Anna Szalwicki, Junior regional Coordinator from Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung fur Internationale Kooperation eV; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Director of Asset Management Division (VNDIRECT Securities Company), Director of DGO Academy; MSc. Phung Thi Thu Huong - lecturer at Faculty of Finance and Banking, University of Economics, VNU.

After experiencing 2 challenging rounds (including Qualifying round with online publication and final round with 2 parts – online presentation and round-robin debate), team Money Talk from the Faculty of Finance - Banking, University of Economics - Law, VNU-HCM (also the only team from the South of Vietnam) has overcome many other teams from various universities and excellently won the Champion award of the Student Savings Contest 2021.
