On September 25, 2022, the delegation of the University of Economics and Law led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Vu Nam - Vice Rector and Mr. Le Van Hinh - project coordinator of PURSEA attended the meeting and discussed the renovation of university governance in Southeast Asia (PURSEA) and exchanged international cooperation with the University of Lorraine, France.
This is a project of the European Union (EU) to support universities in Vietnam and Cambodia to revamp university governance/administration to meet the needs of improving the quality of management system and the quality of higher education during the integration period . This project is conducted with the participation of the two members of VNU-HCMC, the University of Economics and Law and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
During the discussion, representatives of member universities brought forward various governance models in a new context. The delegates also referred to how European universities operate and thus to meet the increasing requirements of both learners and teachers in the digital transformation era.
Besides participating in thematic reporting sessions, project participants also had the opportunity to visit and work with representatives of Faculty Deans and leaders of Research Units in seeking the possibility of promoting international cooperation .
At the report session, the delegations of the University of Economics and Law proposed and came to the collaboration agreement with the representatives of the University of Lorraine on the implementation of the 3+1 training transfer program for Economic Faculty, and especially a high-quality program on Banking and Finance Law in French. In addition toundergraduate programs , two universities will continue to discuss the possibility of developing dual-degree programs at the doctoral and postgraduate levels at UEL. Learners participating in this program will be co-led by lecturers of two universities.
Also in the agenda on September 30, 2022, the representatives of UEL’s leaders also proposed an opportunity to cooperate in the staff mobility program in terms of lecturers and researchers with the Free University of Brussels, Belgium. Alongside mobility programs , the signing of cooperation agreement was also issued by both universities for which students will be sent to participate/ take part in seminars, co-organize seminars and international mock trial competitions.
The meeting with the University of Lorraine and the Free University of Belgium opened up a number of upcoming opportunities for UEL.Not only did it carry out more staff and student mobility programs , co-organize international seminars, etc. but it will also contribute to further cooperation activities in the near future.
