Workshop “Women entrepreneurs in Australia and Vietnam: Building capacity, building relationships”

The workshop “Women Entrepreneurs in Australia and Vietnam: Building capacity, building relationships” was held from February 21 to February 25, 2022. This is an activity included in a series of two training workshops on strengthening women's entrepreneurship within the framework of the partnership between the University of Economics and Law and Deakin University (Business School), approved and providing funds for implementation from 2021 to 2022 by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia.

The event affirms the sustainable cooperation relationship between the University of Economics and Law and Deakin University with the goal of improving the quality of human resources for comprehensive development, especially supporting and promoting women entrepreneurs with innovative and practical start-up ideas to contribute to a developing economy like Vietnam at present.

In this workshop, the University of Economics and Law was in charge of selecting candidates and organizing the activities - connecting the start -up community, organizing events and inviting speakers. Those speakers conductedsome training sessions about the startup scenario in Vietnam, including support mechanisms for women to start a business or getting support from funds for start-up activities. With the aim of developing the capacity of 20 women entrepreneurs in Vietnam, Deakin University deliveredthe training content during the seminar project.

     Due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the participation of experts, startups and investors in Australia has been switched to virtual platforms. The international project "Women entrepreneurship in Australia and Vietnam: Building capacity, building relationships" is considered an important turning-point for the University of Economics and Law to expand cooperation with Australia's potential partners, especially after 2 consecutive years of close cooperation to organize the successful project, helping many women complete their startup idea projects. As for the economy in the region, the implementation of the project aimed at women has brought many humanistic meanings, serving the community in Vietnam and Australia.
